Installation of a high-capacity 986.04 kW DC photovoltaic system featuring cutting-edge solar technology for maximized energy generation and efficiency.
IAH is a well-run facility spanning 10,000 acres. They partnered with Sunsprint to enhance user experience, increase energy efficiency, and reduce electricity expenses. Sunsprint’s job was tasked with the continuous commissioning (CC) of all system components at IAH Terminal C, ensuring their efficient operation and peak performance.
Our engineering team removed and replaced older motors with models that are 10-15% more energy efficient. Baggage Handling System (BHS) was retrofitted to speed up the checking process. Additionally, we installed cost-effective LED lighting in the D/E garage and upgraded the lighting systems in terminal garages A/B to LED. We mounted a metal canopy structure equipped with an 830 kW AC (986.04 kW DC) photovoltaic (PV) system atop the Red Parking Garage. This installation is projected to reduce utility costs by 1,248,833 kWh annually, cut yearly energy usage by two-thirds, and save $39,127 in maintenance costs each year.
